SPEECH
First of all, I want to congratulate the Universal Peace Federation and its managers for their divine services.
Every single service furnished for the dialogue, unity, and brotherhood of mankind will contribute to the world order and peace. These activities dedicated to a better and more beautiful future are, indeed, the ultimate worship.
People fulfilling their religion and their beliefs in the right center see that in fact, there is no distinction among them, because our Glorious Lord has crated all people with the same common values. These values are love, equality, justice and jus, enlightenment, solidarity, and morality. In order to acquire these values, an interhuman dialogue and conversation is required.
The commandments forming the foundations of religions advise people to acquire these values. Ehl-i Kamil and the fundamental ruled of being a good person constitute these values. The contents of worships involve these values, too. No matter which, any religion or civilization that does nor involve these values cannot be considered as acceptable.
The ones, who make discriminations among people, who live for their bodily desires, who live in ignorance, and who do not acknowledge human rights, are distant from Allah and their worships are invalid. Thus, the proper recognition of religious and civilization values will not only strengthen human peace and unity, but will also cause the salvation of humanity. The wrong recognition and practice of religious and civilization values means a disaster of humanity and infringes at the same time any universal human rights.
Nowadays, in which interhuman dialogue is facilitated through expanding globalization, it is the biggest shame of humanity that religious dissentions and wars as well as massacres carried out in the name of religion still continue on diverse places of the world geographies. This originates from the above-mentioned details.
As the World Ehl-i Beyt Foundation, we have undertaken the mission of embracing all religions and humans as an integral whole sharing the same common values. The biggest treasure we are going to bequeath to tomorrow is to learn to love all people created by Allah with all their differences, to make acquaintances, to live in unity and solidarity, and to compete for enlightenment, charity, and service.
Hz. Ali said “all human beings are our human brother”. Hacı Bektaş-ı Veli said “Allah, who created the universe, has created everything in place; the ones, who discriminate people, have problems with themselves.” Yunus Emre said “Love the created due to the creator”. Mevlana said: “Come, come whatever you are, whether you are an infidel, an idolater or a fire-worshiper, come, even if you violated your swear a hundred times, come again”.
As it can be understood from these words, tolerance, humanitarianism, and faith based on equality form the fundamentals of all religions. Our Prophet Hz. Mohammed (sav) underlined the importance of humanitarianism by saying: “If you do not love humans, you cannot be considered as faithful. And if you are not faithful, you cannot go to heaven”. Hz. Mohammed (Sav) said “The most favorable human is the one, who conduces to charities and services” and “The Ignorant and the cruel have no religion”.
Human dignity is measured with the superiority of moral and intellectual values. The ones, who are supposed to have acquired these values on the utmost high level, are religious leaders and scholars. Therefore, we must generalize examples of the present day in order to ensure world peace, human unity and brotherhood. We must carry the torch of common values, through which we embrace each other, to even the remotest corners of the world. The biggest common enemy of humanity is misery and ignorance. As a result, wars, internal conflicts, and ethnic and religious dissensions, which not only threaten world peace but also cause huge damage to humanity, emerge. Thus, the development and improvement of peace and unity in societies slows down. Recessions have been recorded in technological, economic, and social parameters.
Just as you do, we also continue our works as an institution, which is value-centered that are common to the entire human race. Our belief is your belief, and your belief is our belief. Concordantly, we pray for the brotherhood of all world religions and all people of the world. We pray for the increase and generalization of values, such as peace, love, and brotherhood in the whole world. However, there is still a lot of work to do in this respect. Allah and humanity has only one true path, that is to say, our common values.
World peace and world tranquility lie not in the competition for weapons, but in the competition for love.
- The Good are favorable.
- The ones living for their bodily desires cannot say that they are human.
- Our path goes through love and affection.
May Allah be the guide and helper of all of us…
FERMANİ ALTUN, CHAIRMAN OF THE WORLD AHLUL BAYT FOUNDATION, OBTAINING THE WORLD PEACE PRIZE AT THE WORLD SUMMIT MEETING 04-11, PRAYED AS BELOW BY DISPERSING PEACE TO APPROXIMATELY 50 THOUSAND PARTICIPANTS AT SOUTH KOREA PEACE FESTIVAL ON THE DATE OF NOVEMBER 09, 2008.
- We pray in order for the world humanity to come together in a single body, which is God.
- We pray in order for common values such as communication, love, science, equality, solidarity, granted to us by our holy God, to dominate humanity.
- May God give us power in order for all human beings to survive race, religion, color, and gender discrimination, as well as for fraternity of all world human beings.
- May God help us in order for love and peace to save all the world humanity, and in order for time and opportunity to be spent in this field.
- May God protect us from self-seekers, living for their appetites, dictators, and ignorants, used by them.
- May God protect us from harm of those, discriminating people for their own benefit, massacring people, and those, who are slave to their appetites and May God destroy them.
- May God increase the number of scholars, guardians, decent persons, and leaders of true believers, who are the basis of the world and the humanity.
- May God strengthen decent persons for salvation of our brothers, who are under adversity of poverty, and dying of hunger.
- Since the only path to lead us to God is love, May God make us much more potent for unity, fraternity of human beings, and dominance of peace.
